Bannock Point Trail Details – What To Expect

Bannock Point is a moderate hike, taking about 2-3 hours round trip.

Follow the warning signs to start your hike. The trail will descend beside a huge cliff face hidden among the trees, and the footing will become rocky.

The trail then follows a beautiful forest ledge system to a series of stunning viewpoints.

There is a lot to see along this trail, which is about 45 minutes each way. The end of the journey is a 300-foot rock cliff overlooking Slocan Lake, with something new and gorgeous around every bend.

This is one of our favorite Slocan Valley hikes.

Arrive Prepared

When hiking the Bannock Point Lookout Trail, be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are no services available along the way. Also, wear appropriate footwear as the trail can be slippery in places, and have your ten essentials.

Drop-Offs: Stay On The Trail

The Bannock Point Lookout Trail was a gorgeous trail that was not too strenuous. There are plenty of warning signs, but caution is advised owing to the steep drops off the cliffs. However, as long as you keep yourself and the kids on the path, they should stay safe. My kids were even wowed by the scenery around them.
