Our Experience At Cango Wildlife Ranch In South Africa‏

Last Updated on May 6, 2021

Cango Wildlife Ranch serves as a conservation and breeding ground, where free-roaming animals live on the ‘ranch’. A guide takes you around on a tour, telling you all about the animals and their rehabilitation efforts, and after you may wander and get up close to several different animals.

If you have ever dreamed of hearing a cheetah purr, being in the same water as a crocodile, or having Lemurs crawl all over you, you will love the Cango Wildlife Ranch.

We had a great time, but had already had many animal excursions before visiting and found that besides the interactions, there was not enough to entertain us for more than a couple hours. The park was compact, clean and well organized.

The interactions, however, were phenomenal. The staff seemed well educated, trained and helpful. With the interactions we did (Snake, Lemurs, Crocodile Cage Dive), we were able to take on our own camera and were also given a large photo that was included in the price.

It was fascinating being eye-to-eye with Crocodiles, the lemurs were really fun and interactive and having a snake around my neck that could break every bone if it wanted to (even though it was young), really was thrilling. The interactions really are a must if you love animals. We felt they took great care in the well-being of the animals, even going as far as making you wash your hands right before and immediately after leaving an animal interaction.

At the restaurant in the park we had quite a feast. We didn’t expect so much food to be delivered; we could not eat more than half of it. We tried Crocodile and thought it tasted a lot like a mix of chicken and calamari; it was delicious.

Let the photos tell the rest of the story…

Getting up-close with such amazing creatures was fabulous. We were able to learn so much we did not know before and gained an even larger respect for these incredible animals.
