God’s Window is an area of breathtaking scenic views that look never-ending with view points provided the length of the Blyde River Canyon. It was named God’s Window from its Eden-like aesthetic appearance. Sheer cliffs plunge over 700 metres into the lowveld opening a window into the lowvelt expanse and forests.
The original rock ‘Window’ you may notice from others’ photos from years past is now set further back on a private farm.
From the parking lot and all its curio stalls of gorgeous African art, a footpath (rather steep at times) leads you to the main viewpoints. Travel further through the rainforest for additional stunning views that are less populated with tourists the farther upwards you walk.
We wished we could stand there looking out at the breathtaking scenery for longer.
