Hotel Zed is the owner of Accent Inns, which is a group of five other hotels based in BC. The idea of Hotel Zed was to design a hotel that is trendy and fun, without being too pretentious. Following that same funky 70’s vibe as the other Hotel Zed locations in Tofino and Victoria, Hotel Zed in Kelowna is bold and exciting all-around.

At Hotel Zed Kelowna, enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, a swimming pool with hot tub and sauna, and free roller skate, skateboard and bike rentals, all mixed with vibrant 70’s décor that will make you smile.

Enjoy the beautiful view of Kelowna’s City Park and Okanagan Lake (just steps from the hotel!) from the stunning rooftop patio. Relax on a comfortable chair and watch the sunset while sitting around the fire pit. You can also choose to spend some quality time together in the lobby where you can listen to some vinyl, play games, or have some competitive fun steps away in the ping pong lounge!

We brought along Bean-Boozled, a game where you spin a wheel to determine which jellybean colour to taste. However, the good and bad flavors are indistinguishable, which makes it a surprise each time you take a bite. The game brought us so much laughter, and being in a 70s atmosphere added to the experience.

And, don’t forget to make a phone call on the rotary phone. Olivia (our youngest) kept sitting down with the rotary phone and telling us she was calling her boyfriends; it was hilarious!

During our adventure, we stayed in the family suite. It had an open layout with a Queen bed, pull-out couch and bunk beds. It was perfect for our family of six. There was enough room to sleep comfortably, and most importantly, enough space for a pizza party!

Sign a waiver, and you’re ready to go! There are a variety of roller skate sizes available, and the hotel even has helmets to borrow, just in case you take a little spill!

It had been years since I (Debbie) had been on actual roller skates, maybe even back to elementary school. I had such a blast reliving my childhood, zipping around the city streets with a smile on my face. The first time, we all went roller skating (we brought the toddler skates and helmet for our youngest), and then Sadie asked me for a mommy-daughter date the next day. It was definitely one of the highlights of our stay at Hotel Zed in Kelowna!

Best Restaurants Near Hotel Zed Kelowna

When it comes to finding the best local restaurants near Hotel Zed in Kelowna that offer a variety of scrumptious dishes, there are many options to choose from. One of the top recommendations is the Waterfront Wines Restaurant, known for its mouth-watering farm-to-table dishes created with locally sourced ingredients. For seafood lovers, the Shoreline Brewing Company is a must-visit spot, offering an extensive menu of freshly caught seafood delicacies paired with handcrafted brews. Another gem is Salt & Brick, which boasts a modern and chic ambience and serves up an eclectic range of fusion dishes, all made using locally sourced ingredients.

During this visit to Kelowna, we checked out Hooligans Ales & Eats – a funky eatery. Our intention was to try their picture-perfect milkshakes, and we were pleasantly surprised by the amazing milkshakes we received at our table. They were extremely delicious! Additionally, we decided to share “The Original Hooligan Poutine”, a salad bowl filled with two pounds of fries, covered in one liter of gravy and topped with one pound of squeaky cheese.

Whether you’re craving a delicious steak or adventurous dishes, these local restaurants near Hotel Zed Kelowna are sure to satisfy your hunger and leave you wanting more.

Fun Things To Do In Kelowna

Even though there is so much to do at Hotel Zed, if you feel inclined to get out and explore more, Kelowna offers a plethora of activities.

Take your pick from some of the best things to do in Kelowna:

Exploring nature at Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park, which is renowned for its stunning views. Don’t miss going for a ride or hike along the Myra Canyon Trestles. The journey through the Myra Canyon Trestles takes you over 18 trestles, through two tunnels, and through one of the most scenic parts of the Kettle Valley Railway (KVR).

Enjoy a fun-filled day at the beach, with swimming, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.
Get out on Okanagan Lake– Stretching over 135km from end to end Okanagan Lake is one of the best things to see in Kelowna. Not only will it take your breath away, but there is a massive variety of things to do around it. There are beaches on Okanagan Lake that offer a combination of sandy shores, green spaces, fun parks and BBQ areas. Some of the best ones to visit are Hot Sands Beach, Rotary Beach and Strathcona Park.

Visit Scenic Canyon Regional Park to see some of the city’s most stunning natural landscapes. The park offers a number of hiking trails and is perfect for those who want to easily explore the area.
Take part in exciting adventures that include hiking, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing (depending on the season).

Go Wine Tasting – the Okanagan Valley is one of the best places for wineries and vineyards. Indulge in a day of wine tours, tastings, and scenic views. Have kids with you? No worries! There are plenty of wineries that go out of their way to accommodate families. Mission Hill Family Estate Winery, Summerhill Pyramid Winery, and St Hubertus & Oak Bay Vineyards are all wonderful options.

Chase waterfalls – If you’re visiting during the Spring months, you won’t want to miss visiting Mill Creek, and our favourite, Fintry Falls. If you’d like another, take a short drive to neighbouring Peachland for Hardy Falls.

Flyboarding – Kelowna is home to some of the best Flyboarding experiences in Canada. Rated one of the world’s most thrilling water activities, flyboarding involves strapping on a board which is attached to a jet ski motor and flying through the air. It’s a unique and breathtaking experience; an absolute must for anyone who loves a thrill.

Kangaroo Creek Farm – Did you know that you don’t have to go all the way to Australia to see Kangaroos? Head to the Kangaroo Creek Farm in Kelowna and get up close with some of Australia’s most iconic animals, as well as Capybaras (the world’s largest rodent), snakes, birds, Sugar-gliders, and more!
