There are few places in the world where you can get this close to a breeding colony of penguins. Boulders Beach is one of them. Situated near Simon’s Town in False Bay between Fish Hoek and the stunning Cape Point, Boulders Beach has become a must-see.
Walking along the beach and among the boulders, it was amazing to get so close to them. Even more surprising was when they walked right up to and around us as they carried on their day.
Please note: The penguins do roam freely around the area, but don’t touch them. Don’t disturb them.
Boulders beach also forms part of the Table Mountain National Park, so there is an entrance fee. The fee goes towards paying for conservation of the endangered African penguins that live here.
This looks A.Maze.Ing – had never heard of it before. Definitely adding this to the trip list!!!
