✨ 12 Things I Wish I Knew Before Visiting Disney ✨ 12 Things I Wish I Knew Before Visiting DisneySea ✨

But first, 👋 follow us @WorldAdventurists for more travel inspiration around the world 🌍

1. Get there before the park opens.
Lines start forming early, and arriving ahead of opening can set you up for a much smoother day.
2. The app isn’t optional—it’s essential.
You’ll rely on it for wait times, maps, mobile ordering, and securing attraction access throughout the day.
3. Priority Passes and paid passes can sell out.
Free and paid ride access options disappear fast. Early arrival gives you the best shot at getting what you want.
4. The themed lands are the real attraction.
Every area feels like stepping into a different world, with insane attention to detail you don’t want to rush through.
5. Popular rides can hit 2–3 hour waits.
If something is a must-do, prioritize it early before the lines build.
6. The food is part of the experience.
From themed snacks to unique meals, some of the best moments happen when you slow down and eat your way around the park.
7. You’ll walk way more than you expect.
It’s a full day of steps—comfort over style will win every time here.
8. Even non-Disney fans are impressed.
The immersion and atmosphere make it feel more like a world-class experience than just a theme park.
9. Bring a portable charger.
Between photos, maps, and the app, your battery will drain fast.
10. The park is absolutely magical after dark.
Nighttime completely transforms the vibe—don’t rush out early.
11. Buy merchandise when you see it.
Popular items can and do sell out before the day is over.
12. One day isn’t enough.
If you can swing it, add a second day—DisneySea deserves to be savored, not rushed.

It’s TRUE what they say. It’s not a spontaneous park. Having a plan will leave you with a better experience.

So… which slide called you out? 👇 If even on So… which slide called you out? 👇

If even one of these felt a little too familiar, you’re not alone.

👋 Follow us @WorldAdventurists for more real-life travel inspiration, mindset shifts, and family adventure ideas ✈️🌿.

We get really good at convincing ourselves that life will open up later—when things calm down, when money feels easier, when the timing is better, when everything finally lines up just right.

But most of the time, life doesn’t suddenly clear space for us. We have to start creating it inside the life we already have.

Adventure doesn’t always mean boarding a plane or ticking off a bucket list trip.

Sometimes it looks like saying yes to a weekend you would’ve normally overthought. Sometimes it’s choosing the memory over the purchase. Sometimes it’s going somewhere new to you, even if it’s not “perfectly planned.”

Adventure can be messy, local, theme parks, outdoorsy, spontaneous, expensive, free, planned, or completely unhinged…

And sometimes it’s just remembering that your life doesn’t have to stay a certain way until some imaginary future version of you is ready.

There are a lot more opportunities available right now than we tend to give ourselves credit for. Not because everything is easy—but because we get to decide what we prioritize.

If this felt like a reminder you didn’t know you needed, save it for the next time “someday” starts sounding convincing again.

Don’t brush this off… this is serious 👀✈️

👋 But first, follow @WorldAdventurists for more important travel tips ✈️🌎!

Most travelers never think twice about their airline luggage tag. Once your suitcase disappears onto the conveyor belt, you lose visibility over what happens next.

A corrupt airport worker unsticks the luggage tag from an unsuspecting passenger’s bag and re-attaches it to a suitcase packed with drugs.

If the drug bag makes it through undetected, someone at the destination country retrieves it. If it’s intercepted, the innocent passenger whose name is on the tag is left facing the consequences. Some international destinations have some SERIOUS consequences.

Start doing this before every flight 🧳:

📸 Record your luggage at check-in (bag, tag, and weight)
👨‍👩‍👧 Take a photo with your suitcase before handing it over
📍 Photograph the inside of your bag before zipping it up
🏷️ Double-check baggage tag details match your receipt
🎫 Keep your baggage receipt until your trip is complete
📍 Use an AirTag or luggage tracker for visibility
👀 Stay alert during check-in
🧳 Inspect your luggage immediately on arrival
🚨 Report anything unusual before leaving the airport
🎒 Choose unique luggage — distinctive bags are easier to identify and less likely to be confused or targeted
🏷️ Reinforce your baggage tag with clear tape or staples (it would take too much time to tamper with it!)

Small habits, but they add an extra layer of awareness when you travel ✈️.

Travel smart. Document everything. Share this with someone flying soon 🧳.

I recently corrected someone who said my kids are I recently corrected someone who said my kids are being raised in a “bubble” and won’t survive in “real life” because they think an adventure-led life is “normal.”

She thought my response was rude…

But first—follow us @WorldAdventurists for adventure inspiration outdoors and around the world ✨.

I didn’t think it was rude—I think we just disagree on what “real life” actually is.

To her, real life looks like routines, commuting, and waiting for the weekend to feel alive again. And I get it—that’s what a lot of people know. And if that’s what she wants, cool. But don’t knock the possibility that there could be another way.

We do have routines, but we always prioritize adventure. My kids will never have a perfect attendance record at school because we value learning outside four walls too.

The early mornings. The weather shifts. Learning about different cultures through real-life experience. The tired legs. The missed turns. The problem-solving. The moments that don’t go to plan but still turn into stories we talk about later.

Meltdowns on trails. Learning patience in real time. Figuring things out with what you have in your hands, not what you wish you packed.

If this is a “bubble,” it’s one built on reality—just not confinement.

And honestly… I’m trying to raise kids who know how to adapt when life gets uncomfortable than to think that discomfort means something is going wrong.

Because life isn’t something you wait to get easy.

It’s something you learn to move through while it’s messy, loud, and beautiful.

A big shoutout to the parents who bring their kids A big shoutout to the parents who bring their kids along for the travel, camping, road trips, and everyday adventures instead of using those moments as an escape from them.

There’s something really powerful about choosing together. About loading up the car a little slower, packing way too many snacks, and knowing the trip might look different — but it’s full of magic.

Don’t come at me — I’m not implying you should never take a break without the kids. That space matters too. But there’s also something incredibly special about inviting them into the experience when you can, and letting them grow up thinking adventure is just part of life.

Because these years don’t wait. And neither do the mountains, the campfires, the open roads… or wherever your adventure leads you.

another chance.
Another summer.
Another road trip.
Another sunset.
Another opportunity to say, “We’ll do it next year.”

But the truth is, life doesn’t hand out unlimited tomorrows.
We don’t have one more day.
We have one less.

One less day to watch our kids discover something new.
One less day to take that trip we’ve been talking about for years.
One less day to trade routines for memories.

That’s why we go.

Not because it’s always convenient.

Not because we have unlimited time or money.

But because the days are passing whether we use them or not.

So take the trip.
Watch the sunset.
Make the memories.

Because someday you’ll realize the things you remember most weren’t the things you bought—they were the moments you shared.
