The Sandpiper Resort is in Harrison Mills, British Columbia, only 90 minutes from Vancouver and 20 minutes from the town of Harrison Hot Springs. Sandpiper Resort is home to Sandpiper Golf Course, Rowena’s Inn on the River, and the River’s Edge Clubhouse Restaurant. The Sandpiper Resort offers good proximity to all the excitement while providing a serene escape from the hustle and bustle.
Woodland Series Cabins
The Sandpiper Resort Woodland Series Cabins offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the serene forests surrounding the golf course. We stayed in “Oak”. This cozy cabin is the perfect getaway for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts as it seamlessly blends with its surroundings.
Our favorite way to wake up is to the tranquil sounds of nature, especially cherishing the moments of silence punctuated by the chirping of birds. The mornings here were magical!
Woodland Series Amenity Details
The Oak cabin at Sandpiper Resort offers a unique and luxurious experience surrounded by nature. With one bedroom and one bathroom, guests can relax in the comfort of their own woodland cabin. The highlight of the cabin is the deep soaking cedar tub on the spacious deck, providing a tranquil escape while listening to the soothing sounds of nature. Inside, guests can cozy up by the gas fireplace in the living room, complete with a Smart TV for entertainment. The living room boasted floor-to-ceiling windows, framing a large sliding glass door that opened onto the deck. The deep soaking cedar tub, as simple to operate as any bathtub, required only placing the stopper in the bottom and filling it from the wall tap.
The cabin offered a tranquil and serene environment, where gazing out over the stunning grounds and the river felt magical.
Guests can also enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before heading out to explore the surrounding forest. With its Scandinavian design, the Oak cabin offers a modern and stylish retreat for adults, with a maximum occupancy of two people. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful escape in nature, the Oak cabin at Sandpiper Resort is the perfect destination.
River’s Edge Clubhouse
The Woodland cabins are fully stocked with cooking essentials such as pots, pans, dishes, and utensils, enabling you to prepare meals if you choose. However, if you prefer not to cook, the River’s Edge Clubhouse is conveniently located a short stroll away from the cabins, and serves delectable meals.
We relish dining in the restaurant’s glass-enclosed section, that they open up when the weather cooperates. Here, over dinner, we delighted in the sunny view of the lush grounds stretching to the river. It was a beautiful setting to savor our meals, which were made with fresh, local ingredients. Even if you have to eat inside, it is still lovely.
Sandpiper Golf Course
If you’re an avid golf lover, you’ll be in paradise at Sandpiper Golf Course. This 18-hole course offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The course was designed by renowned golf architect Russ Olsen and has been recognized as one of the top public courses in British Columbia. Open 364 days annually, this par 72 golf course stretches over 6,500 yards from the back tees, offering four different sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all skill levels.

Green Point Day Use Area
For those who want to get active and explore the area, the Green Point Day Use Area is a 30-minute drive from the Sandpiper Resort. This popular outdoor recreation destination features hiking trails, picnic areas, and stunning views of views of the surrounding mountains.
The picnic areas provide a perfect spot to enjoy a packed lunch while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
During the summer months, it is also a great and scenic place to go for a swim!
Harrison Flower Festivals
Harrison Tulip Festival (Spring) and Harrison Sunflower Festival (Fall)
When visiting in spring, make sure to experience the vibrant Harrison Tulip Festival, featuring a dazzling array of blooming tulips. Come fall, the Sunflower Festival is a must-see, presenting thousands of sunflowers alongside enjoyable family activities. Both events are conveniently located a 20-minute drive from the Sandpiper Resort.
Circle Farm Tour
Discover the scenic beauty of the countryside and its quaint homes through the self-guided Circle Farm Tour. This tour offers a unique opportunity to visit local artisan workshops. Choose to drive or, for a more old-fashioned experience, cycle around the picturesque farmlands. With a wide array of stops to explore, it’s an ideal summer activity. However, it’s important to note that farms and artisans may operate with limited hours outside the peak season.
Harrison Hot Springs
Take a short 20-minute drive to the picturesque Harrison Hot Springs, celebrated for its natural thermal springs and breathtaking views of the lake. Immerse yourself in the charm of local boutiques and eateries, or unwind on the sandy shores. Be sure to visit the Sasquatch Museum, which explores the lore of the legendary creature rumored to roam the nearby mountains.
We suggest visiting Muddy Waters Cafe for a delightful lunch experience, followed by picking up a delicious treat from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Enjoy this indulgence later in the evening from the comfort of your cabin at Sandpiper Resort, as you relax with the beautiful views.
Fraser Valley Wine Tours
Wine aficionados must not miss the opportunity to explore British Columbia’s renowned wineries. The Fraser Valley Wine Region, known for its breathtaking vineyards and award-winning wines, is a must-visit. Opt for a guided tour or venture out on a self-guided journey to savor some of the finest wines the region has to offer. Single Tree Winery, Mount Lehman Winery, and Ripples Winery are excellent selections for an outing. Anticipate spending half a day on this excursion.
Agassiz Farmers Market

The World’s Largest Wintering Eagle Migration
The area of Harrison Mills is one of the hot-spots of the World’s Largest Wintering Bald Eagle Migration from late October to February, with December being the peak time. This offers a remarkable and unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts. You can admire hundreds of eagles right from the comfort of your cabin at Sandpiper Resort or take a scenic walk through the forest of the Sandpiper Resort to the gazebo, which is one of our preferred eagle-watching spots.
Bridal Veil Falls
Embark on an adventure to Bridal Veil Falls, where the enchanting scenery awaits. This magnificent waterfall is not only a feast for the eyes but also features picnic areas and a brief hiking trail leading to its base. Please note that Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park may be closed in the winter.
