If you want to save money on your stay, consider planning your visit during off-peak times, such as mid-week days or outside of holiday periods, when prices tend to be significantly lower. This not only helps you score a better deal,
but also allows for a more relaxed experience with fewer crowds, giving you and your family more opportunities to enjoy the lodge’s amenities and activities.

During our stay, we were offered an additonal night at a lower cost. When this happens, you will check out as usual, but they allow you to stay in your current room until your new room is ready. They will give you new wristbands, and text you the room number when it is ready for you to switch rooms. We found this very efficient and helpful when we had an additional night booked on a seperate reservation.
4. Bring Your Own Food
One of the biggest expenses at Great Wolf Lodge is dining at the resort’s restaurants. To save money, consider bringing your own food and snacks to enjoy in your room or at the water park. Many rooms come equipped with a mini fridge and microwave, making it easy to store and prepare your own meals. It can really be worth it to stop at Walmart or Costco on your way to the resort and stock up on snacks, drinks, and breakfast items.
If you do decide to dine at one of the restaurants, consider booking a meal package ahead of time. This can save you money compared to purchasing meals individually during your stay. Additionally, look out for special promotions or discounts offered by the resort for dining packages.

We visited during October and were able to Trick Or Treat for free, and adults were encouraged to join in too!
9. Buy A Day Pass For Great Wolf Lodge’s Water Park
If you live nearby or are simply looking to enjoy a fun-filled day at the water park, consider purchasing a day pass instead of booking a room. A day pass allows you to experience all the thrilling attractions, wave pools, and lazy rivers without the commitment of an overnight stay. This option can be especially beneficial for families on a budget, as it offers a more cost-effective way to enjoy a full day of excitement and relaxation. Plus, it allows you to take advantage of the park’s amenities, such as dining options and lounge areas, all while saving money for other activities or treats!
10. Book One Night, But Play For Two Days
Your pass into the Great Wolf Lodge starts at 1 p.m., allowing you to kick off your exciting adventure. You can access your hotel room after 4 p.m. (or earlier if lucky), giving you some time to explore the lodge or enjoy the waterpark. Just make sure to stop by the front desk to pick up your waterpark wristbands, which grant you access to all the fun attractions and slides.
On the second day of your stay, check-out time is at 11 a.m. However, you’re welcome to stay and enjoy the waterpark until it closes, time depending on the day. This means you can make the most of your last day, enjoying the thrilling rides and relaxing in the wave pool before heading home.
11. Check For Group Rates
If you’re planning a trip with a large group, whether it’s extended family, close friends, or a combination of both, it’s essential to inquire about group rates. Booking as a group might allow you to enjoy extra perks. By taking the time to discuss your group’s needs and preferences, you can ensure a more enjoyable and cost-effective travel experience for everyone involved.
12. Theme Rooms Are Fun, But Is The Extra Cost Necessary?
Theme rooms are a popular option at many hotels and resorts, including Great Wolf Lodge. These rooms are typically decorated and furnished according to a specific theme, such as a Wolf Den Suite or KidCamp Suite. While they can add an extra touch of excitement and uniqueness to your stay, it’s essential to consider if the added cost is worth it for your family.
We found the themed rooms to be less detailed than those at other resorts we’ve experienced, such as Legoland. Essentially, the only distinguishing feature was some themed wallpaper in a small children’s sleeping area, while the rest of the room resembled their standard family suite.
13. Bring Other Stuff To Do “In Room”
It’s always a good idea to bring some entertainment options for downtime in your hotel room. This could include board games, books, or even a tablet with downloaded movies or TV shows. This way, you can keep yourself and your family entertained while taking breaks from the water park or winding down after a long day of activities. Plus, it can save you from having to purchase expensive in-room entertainment options.
14. Use Caution With Your Wristband
This is your park pass, a virtual payment tool. This is convenient so you don’t have to bring your wallet. On our last visit, teens at least 14 years and older could have the tap payment wristbands if you approved them being given it. It certainly makes it effortless to spend without a second thought.
15. Join the GWL Voyagers Club (Loyaly Program)
The Great Wolf Lodge Voyagers Club is a complimentary rewards program designed to help you earn points with every stay, which can be redeemed for a variety of perks, including room upgrades and food credits.
