I say it time and time again, but we really can never get enough of driving the Sea To Sky Highway. Squamish is one of the excellent adventure destinations that is worth a stop along it. Looking to experience a new lake, it was time to give Alice Lake in Squamish a try. On our last trip to Whistler with Comet, we tried to stop. Unfortunately, dogs were not allowed past the parking lot, so we were not able to take in any adventure at the lake. This time we didn’t bring Comet and let the kids run wild for the day.
It was a Monday and even for the summer, it was not busy at all. We had the place almost to ourselves until the afternoon, and even then it was not very busy at all. It was great to have so much space and to relax in the sun at Alice Lake in Squamish. The quiet beach and shallow water really made it an ideal place for the kids to play. There were also numerous picnic tables, making it very family-friendly. The water wasn’t the nicest, but the kids sure didn’t seem to mind.
In BC we were spoiled with some awesome weather in May but when summer break actually started, the weather has been so mild and frustrating; not what we love for lake weather. When I saw a weather forecast calling for sun, sun and more sun, we jumped on it.
It was a nice relaxing day at the lake, aside from the Geese. If you can look past the Geese and their droppings on the beach, you’ll have a great time!
Take a look at our day at Alice Lake:
