Montecasino is a leisure and casino complex located at No.1 Montecasino Boulevard in Fourways, Sandton, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
Walking through the MonteCasino in Johannesburg, South Africa, you may swear you are in Vegas. Styled to replicate an ancient Tuscan village, it feels and looks like the Vegas Paris hotel (among others) and also features a fake sky painted on the roof, inside going from light to dark.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the MonteCasino, even if our luck did not seem to be working out too well. Always know your limit when gambling!

A nice feature of this casino is the open air piazza that is modeled on an Italian Piazza, complete with a Bell Tower that chimes as its focal point. The piazza would be a great place to grab a bite to eat while taking a break from the slot machines or blackjack table on a nice day. The day we went to the casino it was pouring rain, so we opted to eat inside.
The hot air balloon at MonteCasino is called the Hyundai balloon and is known as the “Jozi Eye”. It only goes up to a max of a couple hundred feet and is tethered down, so if you have a fear of a full hot air balloon ride, this would be a great chance for you to get over your fear.

The MonteCasino also has a Bird Garden beside the casino. You can wander around the beautiful gardens full of colorful birds, mammals and reptiles. It was surprising to see small antelope wandering freely around the garden grounds.
The bird garden features over 60 species of birds. You are welcome to feed the birds in the Lorikeet Aviary while you giggle as they happily climb all over you for photos; the Lorikeets sure were friendly!

Even if you are not huge on gambling, the MonteCasino has a lot to offer. A romantic dinner, a stroll through the bird gardens, a hot air balloon ride. There is sure to be something that will tickle your fancy.
