The beaches on Vancouver Island in Pacific Rim National Park are so dreamy. It is a real west coast beach paradise. To have this kind of beauty in our home province of British Columbia makes us realize how lucky we are to call beautiful British Columbia home. We spent most of our time in Tofino at Chesterman Beach, Long Beach and Wickanninnish Beach. We were blown away by the scenery and the silky smooth sand between our toes. We would rate each of these beaches as a must visit!
Chesterman Beach
We loved watching the surfers out in the water riding the waves as we ran around in the sand. The sand felt heavenly between our toes; so silky smooth. There were a lot of young families around, too. It is a great spot to learn to surf as the waves aren’t overwhelming and the amount of lessons going on showed what a great place it is to learn. Maybe next time we’ll have to take some lessons. Darcy and I tried surfing in California and we really weren’t very good at all, but practice does make perfect, right?
Long Beach
We spent the most time at Long Beach, playing in the (cold) water and sand. Madison has a high tolerance for cold and loved the water. Sadie, not so much. She would dip her feet in, but was happier building sandcastles and destroying them. Long beach is so beautiful that it really is a natural feast for the eyes. It was the perfect spot to spend outside for the day. A bit windy, but a beautiful sunny blue sky day. With the combo of sun, soft sand and beach life vibes, we couldn’t resist this beach. The beach was massive! You could walk forever and find a nice spot to yourself if you desired; so much room to spread out. Watching the surfers in this surfers paradise was a delight. The beauty blew our minds.

Wickaninnish Beach
Wickaninnish beach was the perfect spot to watch the sunset and explore tidal pools to find some great underwater life. The sunset was so beautiful that it really felt so surreal to witness. Daydreaming is common at this beach and it’s hard to stop your thoughts from drifting off to the dreamy visions. We loved all the driftwood and huts that people had built and it felt like you could walk forever along the shoreline. The sunset here was so mesmerizing!
